I’ve been looking for the perfect blazer for a year now, something with a structured shoulder line, great fit and feel. So far my search has led nowhere; I’ve returned and turned down a few decent options which just didn’t quite cut it, making me more frustrated and obssessed than ever.
It seems that a temporary solution to the problem was closer than I thought. It so happens that my boyfriend owns an amazing Viridi Anne blazer that meets all my requirements: it has enough shoulder padding and great details, it fits like a boyfriend blazer but is still feminine enough to pair it with pretty much my whole wardrobe. Why I call this perfect solution a temporary one then? Well, one problem still exists: what if one day we both feel like wearing it?
So the hunt down for the perfect one for me still continues, though now there is an excellent temporary solution available. Well, at least on those days when my boyfriend is not in a blazer mood, which unfortunately, doesn’t happen too often. I don’t blame him though. It’s one great blazer.

Today my silver ring collection grew by one new member: I spotted this amazing bone armor ring with a claw on the fabulous 5 inch and up blog, and instantly decided it just had to be mine. Sandra was kind to hint that eBay had a similar ring up for auction and with some luck, I happened to be the highest bidder. Now I can’t wait to take this baby for a test drive with my future outfits!

P.S. For those who are interested, Sandra also told me that these bone rings are sold in Camden town, London, so if you happen to be in the neighborhood, get yours there. On the market they go for about £50 since the ring is made of real silver.
PPS. The leather underneath my hand is also one of my recent purchases but I shall reveal its form to you later…
Enjoy your Friday, folks!

Last weekend was so much fun and went by way too fast; it was nice meeting up with some of my older friends and making new ones. It’s a pity I didn’t manage to take any pictures from our stylish guests but I guess when you’re having a good time until the early hours of the morning, camera just might be the last thing to think about. Well, there is always next time…
When it comes to fashion, my mind seems to work on an unconscious level: Whilst constructing my outfit for Saturday, I happened to glimpse the Julius fall/winter collection and saw this outfit in the bunch (photo courtesy of the Fashionisto). Now, I have worn this very same outfit even before seeing the Julius collection but with the leather glove, it looks almost identical. It’s actually quite funny because I always tend to fall in love with collections where the most elements are already part of my wardrobe – clothes, that don’t necessarily redefine my style each season but rather strengthen it.
This reminds me, I have tapered cargo pants hidden somewhere in the attic. Perhaps it’s about time to let them see the light of day…

Sometimes you make the greatest finds from the most bizarre places. Take these fingerless leather gloves for example, which I accidentally stumbled upon whilst looking for some driving gloves at a department store. Since when did they start to stock items that are actually wearable in this city? (I have to eat my words here a bit, I’ve found a pair of excellent shoes from the same brand sometime ago.)
One of these guys will be part of my outfit for tonight’s fashion event, just haven’t decided yet which one. More about it later!

I have stated a few times before that in my life music and style go pretty much hand in hand: a certain song or the mood of a song can define what kind of ensemble I end up pulling out of the closet for the day. Many times I’ve wanted to transmit my inspiration sources in the form of music, but a bunch of Youtube videos at the end of the entry would feel kind of silly, especially when most of the tracks I’d like to play can not be found from there. Hence, I’ve just ended up naming my entry titles with song lyrics or something of the kind.
After multiple requests from my behalf, the required plug-in for a play list has finally become available on Indiedays, and I got the pleasure to be the first one to test out of this new feature. If this works out, I was thinking about making this a weekly habit, if time permits. My plan is also to put something current and those forgotten gems on your platter, hence the title name “Off the beaten track“.
Today’s dark but dancey playlist is a prelude to the weekend which will include dressing in black (no surprise there), meeting up with friends, attending a fashion show, and hopefully good times. Let me know what you think!
